Measurements for Ballet Costumes
Measurements for ballet costumes are complex and require a series of more detailed measurements depending on which costume is being ordered. Please see our Measurement Guide for Girls and Women for the detailed measurements required. Proper measurements insure a proper fit! If you give us inaccurate measurements then we cannot guarantee an accurate fit.
Measurements for Lyrical Costumes
For lyrical costumes the most important measurement is the Girth or Torso measurement. This is taken by placing the measuring tape on the shoulder and dropping the tape down the back of the body between the legs and up the front of the body. When the tape comes back to the starting point on top of the shoulder, that is your Girth measurement. Please note that we also need the dancer's Bust, Waist, Hip and Height measurements in inches before we will begin making your costume.
Please note:
Accurate measurements are essential. Please make sure that all measurements are taken with precision and care. Tutus & Dancewear by Design Inc. is not responsible for an incorrect fit if the measurements provided are not taken correctly. It is your responsibility to give us accurate measurements.
